And while off the subject of photography…

Watch this.  Smart guy.  It’s easy to be pessimistic about things but everything he says just feels right.

People need to learn to clone better!!

If you’re going to alter your photojournalism and sell it off as real, I think the first step ought to be to LEARN HOW THE FUCK TO USE the clone tool in Photoshop!!  Seriously..

Last year the AP let go of their photographer who was caught photoshopping a photo of smoke from an Isreali stike on Beirut.

Really?  Is it just because I have a trained eye that this is so easy to spot for me?  It’s one thing to darken the smoke clouds.  That would be tough to catch… but the OBVIOUS addition of layers of smoke is astounding to me.  Especially considering it was a photographer who made the changes.

And then just a few days ago the COUNTRY of IRAN decided they needed to modify officially released photos which are meant to show the world how powerful the mighty nation or Iran is.

Well… it seems as though perhaps one of the missles they tested did not work properly, and a photoshop session was needed to cover it up.  Fair enough.  Again, lesson one.. LEARN TO CLONE!!

When there are NUMEROUS areas that look IDENTICAL, it’s a sure sign that the photo has been faked.  I could probably spend 10 seconds editing that photo in order to make it 10 times harder to spot.  Yikes.

It’s crazy, though, this modern age of photoshoppery we live in.  Don’t believe most of what you see.

Oh and did you guys read about how Jesse Jackson was caught saying he wanted to “cut out [Barak Obama's] balls.” hahahaha classy, indeed.

And then there was the other quote from John McCain “joking” about how our cigarette exports to Iran might actually be a plot to “kill them.”  For-fucking-real, Mr. McCain?  I know it’s cliche as shit to say but if that guy wins I gotta find a new country.  When people start to casually joke about murdering entire nations all that comes to mind is ADOLF FUCKING HITLER.
