some digital shots from my san francisco trip last october. amazing how fast time goes by…

Most of the shots are during the night because I shot mostly film during the daylight hours… film that still is awaiting scanning, of course!

I loved this simple scene here and how the roads seems to go on forever. This was after walking home from some bar on 24th street one night. My hostel was right downtown by Union Square so it was a rather long walk. I wish there’d been a human subject in the frame.

Yeah it was a week or two before Halloween.

A meeting. I wondered what was being discussed here.

This tunnel scared me. I took the above ground route instead.

All the hills make usually normal scenes a bit more interesting. Perhaps just to me since I am from the midwest.

Here is a somewhat cool effect on the Golden Gate bridge. I have to say, after walking for a good two hours from my hostel just to get here, I was a bit disappointed by it. The sun was setting and it was nasty overcast but I still like the colours here. The effect was created by shooting a long exposure on my pseudo-tripod (a wooden post) and while the lens was open I pulled the focus. Really it’s something I’ve never remembered seeing this method before though I imagine it is no special new technique. It was just a bit of improvisingby me to make the shot a bit more interesting since there are millions of photos of this bridge already.

Enjoy,
Clayton
